CAPITOL HILL BLOCK PARTY
NOVA transformed the heart of Capitol Hill with multi-story projections spanning multiple city blocks.
The organizers of CHBP were looking for a creative way to extend and expand the stage presence of the famous event.
The team had the perfect solution by using a mix of live video feeds from the stage and multiple roof based projection mapping stations. This way even the people in the back could get a clear view of the action in the front.
EXPERIENCE
From the ground perspective the projections were larger than life.
What started as a few nondescript buildings around the area turned into a signature canvas for the entire event each evening.
When the live camera feed panned to the audience it became interactive, almost of like an architectural Jumbo-Tron.
SYSTEM
For the whole production NOVA made it easy for CHBP to shine.
By basing the entire production on the rooftop the footprint for the festival was almost non-existent.
For the entire weekend the team coordinated with the main stage show callers so that each artist had a unique look and visual treatment across 3 nights and multiple years of production.
