The Winter Solstice is a truly universal holiday.

To properly celebrate this global occasion NOVA Light Labs delivered an original production by the name of Polaris to bring light and beauty to this special holiday at the Art Revel Gallery in Boise, ID.

Wall to wall immersive projection mapping, all original 8K themed visuals, a synchronized tree, ornaments, audio, and more all combined for a sold out show of cosmic proportions.

Once inside every sense became part of the show.

Once guests checked in they were greeted with a symbolic sacrament candy, seasonal libation, whiffs of a real fir tree, sounds of winter landscapes set to electronic melodies, and of course rich visual imagery projected on every surface.

For 60 minutes Polaris astounded guests with 10 original artworks set to music including a solo improvisational performance by local violinist Alyssa Joy.

One that celebrates the longest night of winter, and the return of the sun, through the bright light of modern immersive projection.

Truly a spectacle for the ages.

To take the show to the highest levels 10 all original visual artworks were created for Polaris.

To properly convey all the angles of the Winter Solstice, from antiquity, to modern times, each scene was crafted by hand in full immersive 3D, at a stunning 8K resolution, so that the gallery walls became a window into each world.

Flying reindeer, magical amanitas, sundials, cathedrals, forest fauna, snowflakes, yuletide trees, and more adorned the walls as set to beautiful sounds and narration of each scene.

Every space is unique from every angle.

To fully account for the layout inside the Art Revel Gallery a full 3D model of the room was created to perfectly simulate every projector position and throw to ensure accurate alignment before production.

To drive the ensemble a powerful server capable of synchronizing the 6 independent surfaces was deployed to ensure the highest clarity and most seamless playback possible.

Add in the sound, the pixel mapped tree LEDs, and the whole space became an extension of the artistic vision.
