In 2015 Faithlife commissioned NOVA Light Labs to design a permanent projection mapping system for its downtown Bellingham building.

The software company wanted its 5 story headquarters to feel like a landmark, not just an office. A nightly mural the whole town could enjoy on the walk home.

It began at a downtown art walk. NOVA lit the facade with a spring themed projection, the crowd gathered, and Faithlife wanted it to stay. Projection mapping made that possible with no permanent changes to the building.

The system lit the Bellingham skyline every weekend.

The opening was the grandest night. The street closed to cars and the town gathered to watch the building come alive.

Visible from blocks away, the show became a fixture of downtown. A weekend ritual that gave Faithlife the landmark it wanted and gave Bellingham something legendary of its own.

The system shipped with original custom visuals built for the building, and the library only deepened over the years.

NOVA developed 2 hours of content drawn from the playful, outdoor spirit of Bellingham. A giant hand painting the facade in the style of Bob Ross, sunlight through sprouting plants, and other bright motifs, all synced to music through sidewalk speakers.

The library kept growing. Faithlife's creative team, local artists, and an annual projection competition with WWU Design Students all added work, shown each year at a downtown gallery night.

The show ran on 50,000 lumens housed in climate controlled projector enclosures.

Projectors sat on a friendly rooftop nearby, hidden from the sidewalk to protect the effect. Cameras, sensors, and remote access made the platform simple to run while it delivered full coverage every weekend.
