Galleri Immersive
Dinner

The Engine Shop Agency set out to elevate a 4 course dining experience for Galleri with Chef Richard Blais, hosted at Knife House in Palm Springs, California.

NOVA Light Labs designed, built, and programmed custom tabletop projection mapping tuned to every course and plate, turning the dinner table itself into the show.

It set the blueprint for the immersive dining format NOVA has refined ever since. A single luminous night made to feel absolutely legendary.

experience

The night ran as one continuous arc, each scene giving way to the next as Chef Richard Blais introduced every course and the visuals unfolded across the table.

Guests watched light move over crystal and china, the room holding a quiet hush between reveals.

NOVA technicians called the show live, timing each transition to land the moment the plates reached the table, so the visuals and the meal moved as one.

art

Every scene was custom built to match the course on the plate, from a field of wildflowers and greenery beneath the salad to an ocean breaking across the salmon.

NOVA created custom visuals for each moment, mapped to the exact placement of every plate, glass, and setting, with clear glassware and plates chosen on purpose so the projected light refracts through the crystal and scatters across the table.

The finished piece paired original visuals with matched audio for each beat of the night: walk in, course speech, dining, transition, and finale.

system

Custom overhead rigging and projection mapping fit into an 8 foot room with nothing mounted to the venue’s ceiling.

The room's 8 foot ceiling ruled out standard truss, so NOVA designed and built custom freestanding structures to carry the overhead projectors, rigid enough to hold alignment and light enough to set up in hours, with nothing bolted to the ceiling and no damage to the space.

Behind the scenes, NOVA media servers pushed synchronized pixels to more than 12 projectors from a single control station while the Engine Shop team called the show over radio.
