For when the light is meant to endure.

NOVA Light Labs designs permanent projection mapping systems for interior and exterior spaces. Built to run for years.

For over a decade the studio has lit brands, venues, and cultural institutions. Architecture turned into living light. Durable, reliable, built to hold up night after night, an approach NOVA pioneered and has refined ever since.

Permanent projection mapping systems built into the structure of the space.

A permanent projection mapping installation lives in its space. It runs night after night, season after season, and it never has to look the same twice. The room holds still. The light does not.

Guests step in and the architecture is moving around them and overhead. A ceiling becomes a sky. A wall becomes portal to a new dimension.

NOVA designs the system that makes it run. Blueprints, a full 3D model, the bill of materials, oversight, and training. The deliverable is the design. The client's team owns the build.

The system stays. The art moves.

A permanent projection mapping installation is a canvas that never has to repeat itself. New scenes for a new season. Fresh work for a holiday. Weekday programming, weekend spectacle, a look made for a single night. The hardware is set. The content is open.

No two spaces are alike. That is the advantage. The architecture sets the terms, and those terms make the work singular. Each installation is native to its room and exists nowhere else.

production

NOVA is the architect, not the installer.

Think of how a building gets made. The architect designs it and specifies every part. The architect does not pour the concrete or wire the fixtures. That division was solved centuries ago, and it holds for a reason.

NOVA works the same way. Most AV firms go turnkey instead: they buy the hardware, mark it up, and pass every dollar of tax and friction to the client. The markup rides on the equipment. So the incentive is to specify the most expensive box on the shelf. No conversation. Just a quote.

NOVA sells the conversation. The studio designs the system and specifies every component, and the client owns the purchase outright. No resale, no markup, no hardware on NOVA's invoice. The fee is set once at scope and holds, whatever gear the design calls for. What the client buys is the design and the judgment behind it, never a percentage of the equipment.

The deliverable is a system design in 3 parts: blueprints, a full 3D model, and the bill of materials. The client procures the hardware directly. Their team or their contractor handles the install. NOVA flies out for oversight, commissioning, and training.

Then the keys are theirs. The studio trains the in-house team on operation, remote access, and maintenance, and steps back. From there, the team runs it.

This model is not for everyone. It rewards clients who want ownership, transparency, and control of their own hardware. For them it is the right way to build. It is the only way NOVA builds.
