NOVA Light Labs transformed the heart of Seattle's Capitol Hill with multi-story projections spanning multiple city blocks.
Capitol Hill Block Party (CHBP) ranks among Seattle's legendary summer festivals, and its organizers wanted to extend the stage presence of the event well past the main stage.
NOVA answered with rooftop projection mapping stations fed by live video from the stage. Guests packed deep in the crowd, back in the beer garden and along the canyon of the main stage funnel, could watch the action play out across the surrounding buildings, blocks from the front.

From the ground the projections were larger than life.
What started as a handful of nondescript buildings became a signature canvas for the entire festival each evening, wrapped in custom visuals built for the night.
When the live camera feed panned across the audience the projections turned interactive, an architectural Jumbo-Tron scaled to the whole neighborhood.

NOVA ran the whole production from the rooftop, with a footprint the festival never had to plan around.
Rooftop projection mapping stations kept all NOVA hardware off the festival grounds, so the ground footprint stayed effectively non-existent.
Across 3 nights, NOVA coordinated directly with the main stage show callers, giving each artist a distinct look and visual treatment. The system held across multiple years of production.
