Fremont Foundry

A modest side room became a destination for the ages wrapped floor to ceiling in immersive 360º projection mapping.

Fremont Foundry wanted the space to feel like more than a lounge. NOVA Light Labs answered by mapping every wall and laying a reflective floor, turning an overflow room into the center of the event.

Guests filled it all evening, and what began as a medium sized side room became the heart of the night.

experience

More than a lounge, the room became a gathering place for revelry that ran the length of the night.

Guests sank into the seating and stayed, held by walls and a floor alive with projected light.

Conversation carried, cameras came out, and the room became the talking point of the night, as photogenic as it was inviting.

the art

The custom visuals had to carry the room, so every scene was built from the space itself.

Working from measurements and a 3D model, NOVA rendered each look to fit the walls and floor exactly, content true to the room down to the corner and presented to the client for sign off as a single 30 minute loop.

The scenes ranged from the stars to the seafloor: a passage through outer space, TRON inspired geometry, optical illusions, lush jungles, and coral reefs.

system

In a space this intimate, the equipment had to disappear.

Shadows, cables, and every 4th wall breaking element were hidden from view. Custom painted projector stands, integrated computers, and a reflective Mylar floor were dialed in so nothing pulled focus from the projection mapping.

6 projectors covered the walls end to end, mapped to light the full room evenly and hold the effect from every seat.
