NOVA Light Labs composed custom visuals for the spring season at Idle Hands, an immersive cocktail bar in Phoenix, Arizona.
Idle Hands wanted spring. The bar is built around a permanent projection mapping installation behind the windows that line the back bar, a world guests peer into all night. Each season that world changes, and NOVA was commissioned to create the spring scene.
The result is a luminous desert in bloom. Illuminated flowers drift among stone, cactus, and skulls behind the glass, framed like a living diorama. The scene loops without a seam, so spring never ends.

Through the windows behind the bar an illuminated desert world blooms eternal.
The room stays dark. Burnt wood, candlelight, mezcal poured slow, and past the glass a landscape glowing in full flower. Guests look through the windows into another realm entirely.
Fresh blooms fill the venue, and the projected landscape picks up the thread, as if the room's flowers continued past the glass. Nothing flashes. Nothing pulls focus. The scene glows at the edge of the evening and lets the night carry on.

A surreal desert landscape in bloom, rendered as custom visuals for a dual projector ultrawide canvas.
The scene reads as real. Then it moves. Desert flowers, cactus, rock, and sun bleached skulls drift in an uncanny rhythm, every element lit from within, while a water basin glows aqua and transparent as the terrain reveals it.
A stone border frames the full composition like a living terrarium. The piece runs several minutes, then loops with no visible seam. Spring simply continues.
